Would I still say yes without knowing the outcome—or the timeline?
Learning to trust God’s timing and choose obedience when we can’t see the full picture.

Five years ago, we said yes to God without knowing exactly what that ‘yes’ would mean.
And since then, there have been a whole lot more yeses.
Some big. Some small.
Some public. Some private.
Some exciting. Some incredibly hard.
If I’m honest, I thought I’d have a much clearer picture by now.
I thought five years later we’d be able to look back and say, “See? THAT’S why God asked us to do all of this."
I thought there would be something tangible we could point to.
A destination.
An outcome.
A clear reason that made all the uncertainty make sense.
Instead, five years later...
we’re still saying yes.
Still walking.
Still trusting.
Still surrendering our plans.
Still not seeing the full picture.
The truth is, we like guarantees before we say yes.
We want details. Timelines. Outcomes.
We want to know what it’s going to cost us, And preferably what we’re going to get in return.
And THEN we’ll decide if our answer is yes.
Well, sorry guys… 😂
God doesn’t really work that way.
Abraham got, “Go to the land I will show you.”
Not an address.
Not a five-year plan.
Not a list of everything that would happen along the way.
Just...go.
And honestly, maybe there’s grace in that.
Because if God showed us the whole plan - the waiting, stretching, sacrifices and uncertainty - I wonder if we’d even have the courage to say yes in the first place.
Maybe faith is simply one yes, one step, and then another.
And has there been a ‘payoff’?
Absolutely.
It just looks different than I expected.
I wouldn’t take back a single yes.
I’ve learned.
I’ve grown.
I’ve been stretched and humbled.
I’ve loosened my grip on comfort and my own plans.
I’ve watched God provide.
I’ve experienced things I never could’ve planned for myself.
I’ve been transformed.
And five years later, knowing what I know now?
I’d still say yes.
I wouldn’t trade this path.
I wouldn’t undo the hard parts.
I wouldn’t choose the safer, more predictable version of our life.
Because five years later, I may not have more answers - but I have far more confidence in the One leading us.
